Food and beverages on crewed sailing holidays

Food and Beverages on Crewed Cruising Yachts
If you are interested in crewed sailing holidays, it’s good to know that gulets, as well as motor sailers and mini cruisers, are the types of cruising yachts for rent in Croatia that are chartered fully crewed only. The number of crew members depends on the type of yacht you choose to book for your Croatian vacation, but there are usually around four crew members on gulets, whereas mini cruisers and motor sailers can have anywhere from five to ten crew members altogether.

When it comes to food, it’s important to bear in mind that half board is mandatory when chartering one of these crewed yachts. However, some gulets and motor sailers also offer full board or extra dinners a few times per week. Children of a certain age are eligible for discounts on both options. Before the cruise actually begins, clients are asked to fill out a preference list so that all the meals on board can be prepared based not only on personal preferences but also on dietary requirements and health conditions.
Although food provisioning is always arranged in advance, it’s possible to purchase additional food and groceries in the harbors in case of an impromptu celebration or a special occasion. Meals served on fully crewed yachts are always prepared using fresh and locally sourced produce, resulting in delicious culinary moments to share with your family and friends. You will also get plenty of opportunities to taste authentic Dalmatian and Mediterranean dishes during your cruise, which include only the finest fish, extra virgin olive oil, high-quality meat, and fresh fruit and vegetables.

If you are wondering about beverages, you should know that drinks on board are typically charged according to the yacht’s bar price list. However, there are also all-inclusive domestic alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink packages available. In case you opt for an all-inclusive package, please keep in mind that premium wines and imported alcoholic beverages are usually charged separately.
Although most crewed yachts don’t allow passengers to bring their own drinks, some gulets do allow it, in which case clients are only required to pay a corkage fee.

As you can see, one of the greatest advantages of chartering a fully crewed yacht is that many aspects of the cruise are already taken care of, including food and beverages, so all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your sailing holiday in Croatia.
